The short version: we only collect what the app needs to work, we never sell your reading data, and we never post anything on your behalf.
Who we are
moodyreader is a book-tracking app. You can log books, build shelves, track a reading goal and streak, and get recommendations that tell you why.
What we collect
- Account info (via Google Sign-In): your name, email address, and profile picture, so we can create and secure your account. We never receive your Google password.
- Your reading data: the books, shelves, ratings, reading progress, goals, and preferences you create in the app.
- Basic technical data: your timezone (so streaks and daily goals use your local day) and standard request data needed to run the service.
We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, or messages, and we show no ads.
How we use it
- To provide the core features: tracking, shelves, stats, streaks, and recommendations.
- To keep your account secure and your data in sync across devices.
We do not sell your personal information or your reading data.
Who we share it with
We use trusted providers only to run the app:
- Google — sign-in / authentication.
- Supabase — secure database and authentication hosting for your account and reading data.
- Book data sources (e.g. Open Library, Google Books) — we request public book information such as covers and descriptions. We do not send your personal data to them.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security terms. We do not share your data with anyone for advertising.
Data security
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
- Access / export: email us for a copy of your data.
- Delete your account and data: email [email protected] any time to have your account and associated reading data deleted.
- Sign out: you can sign out on any device at any time.
Children
moodyreader is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy; when we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above.
